At the beginning of August we were joined by Flo who came to make his own wooden surfboard…
Hailing from Hamburg Germany, it was Flo’s first time in the UK, and we were stoked to show him the delights of Cornwall, from the beautiful sunny beaches to delicious Cornish pasties.
During the week Flo made a 9’5 Seasaw, one of our longboards, a blend of a traditional plank shape with modern foils and rails, a great all rounder. He chose a classic single sandwich wood layup, which is a favourite of many workshoppers, and it looked great running down the centre of the deck.
The weather was amazing during the 5 days as the UK was in a heat wave, so we took as many opportunities as we could to enjoy the sun, eating at awesome local cafes, grabbing a beer one evening and even sneaking to the sea for a quick bodysurf one lunchtime!
Another first for us was Chris taking charge of the Thursday and Friday, as James was on childcare duty, Chris rose to the occasion and comfortably lead Flo through the entire shaping process, well done Chris you legend!
