Our 2024 Annual Gathering Of Makers!

Every year we are always so excited to welcome back our workshoppers for the day, to celebrate being part of such a special community, and to catch up on the friendships we make during each wooden surfboard workshop.

This year we met up at Sandy Acres on the North Coast of Cornwall with anyone who fancied joining us in the water for a surf. With the forecast being windy and onshore we were hoping there might still be a bit of shape to the waves and at least have some surfable lumps to paddle into.

It turned out better than expected with sets providing glassy walls once the wind backed off, rolling through to the inside where some waves stayed open, accelerating towards the dunes with pleasing power.

We loved being able to catch up with everyone in the water, bobbing about in the sun, surrounded by wooden surfboards, sharing waves with friends!

It was probably our best attended beach part of the day, counting 17 wooden surfboards in the water and a couple of hardcore bellyboarders who decided to jump in sans wetsuit!

After surfing we all met back up at the cafe at the top of the dunes for some lunch and various debriefs of the session, with everyone basking in the sun and the warm afterglow of post surf stoke.

We all agreed to meet back up in the evening for dinner at the cafe next to our workshop, joining other folks who had travelled down for the event.

The good people at Canteen had cooked up a huge pot of chili, which we served up amongst workshoppers, friends and family surrounded by wooden surfboards adorning the walls.

The evening was filled with friendly chatter, stories and good vibes as we all caught up with each other and welcomed new workshoppers to their first AGM.

It was such a fun day!
