Another Otter Surfboard Turns 10 Years Old!

22 . 01 . 26

What were we doing in 2016? Exactly what we do now! Here is our 9’1 Wicket, which was made that year and has been surfed regularly ever since…

The above pictures show the first and most recent splash for the surfboard in question – it might just be the Otter board that has the highest wave count!

Tony, who made the board with us during one of our 5 day workshops, (and was kind enough to put in on permanent loan for us to use), carving out a smooth bottom turn at Godrevy back in 2016.

And Rich, one of our regular Monday Morning Surf Club surfers, setting his line on a dreamy Porthtowan left a few days ago.

Longevity is something we always talk about when it comes to sustainability, and why our hollow wooden surfboards are worth the work and craftsmanship that goes in to them, so to have one of our quiver turn 10 is a big moment, and a testament to the values that gave birth to our company.

Above you can see the Wicket under construction during day 2 of our ‘make your own’ workshop course, and the final day where we like to mark to moment with a picture in front of our big blue doors.

Below you can see a selection of our favourite photos from the last 10 years featuring Tony’s Wicket thriving amongst the waves of North Cornwall.

All of our sustainable, hollow wooden surfboards are made using wood from local, regenerative woodlands and are intended for a lifetime of waves. Custom made or make your own.
