This Sunday, the 29th of November at 11am, I’ll be in conversation with Mark Shayler as part of the Digital Craft Festival, live on Zoom and Facebook. Join us here.
At the beginning of every summer for the past three years, we’ve loaded up the van and headed up to Bovey Tracey, in Devon, to demonstrate at the Contemporary Craft Festival.
For obvious reasons, things have been a little different this year, so Sarah and the team behind the wonderful event decided to take the festival online. When we couldn’t get together physically, they found a way to bring together makers and craft-lovers across various platforms to continue to inspire making and wonder in the world of craft. They created the Digital Craft Festival.
Set to return this weekend (27th-29th of November) for a Christmas edition, they’ll have a weekend full of informative, fascinating and inspiring talks, demonstrations and workshops. We’re excited to be getting involved with an interview from Mark Shayler live on Zoom and Facebook. As well as being broadcast live, the conversation is being recorded and will be uploaded onto the Craft Festival YouTube channel. If you’d like to join us, sign up for free via this Eventbrite page and you’ll be able to add your questions to the talk.
Mark has been a friend of ours for the past few years. He is a visionary, public speaker and author who runs an innovation and environmental consultancy called Ape. He is the author of ‘Do Disrupt: Change the Status Quo or Become it’. I’m really excited to sit down with him and dig into the world of craft and explore the power that making with your own two hands can have for all of us.
