There was a lot of cross-shore wind coming up to high tide, making the sea look very uninviting at the bottom of the hill, so we went searching for shelter…
Here’s a few words from Ally about the session:
“We were a little hopeful we would find a ridable wave at Portreath, and it turned out to be the right call, as despite the huge booming sets, there were a few corners breaking onto the sand. It was almost impossible to line up when filming, as there was a lot of water moving about, but it turned into a really fun bodysurf, dropping into impossible walls of water and getting pounded on the inside!”
We swapped about using the bob and crescent handplanes, with a strap and hole respectively.

Rolling up to the beach to see a calm sea and one other surfer out, we had no idea we were about to luck into some lovely little peelers...
