Monday Morning Surf Club!

A mission to find shelter pays off…

With the North Coast blown out, we were once again on a search for shelter, and after checking some waves we felt confident we could surf a low-tide crumbly looking beach break.

The paddle out proved a little more difficult than first thought, as the rip forced us back towards the headland and the sets were regularly closing out, making finding the takeoff zone pretty tricky.

As always there was a little luck involved as we found ourselves in the right spot enough times to get a few waves under our belts. The whitewater rumbled through, sometimes without properly breaking, which meant a lot of paddling to get into them, resulting in a quick transition as it rolled through to the inside banks, throwing over and pushing in with a lot of power, creating a hollow, fast racey ride.

We were treated to a beautiful sunrise which made the trip even more worthwhile, bring on next week!

James was surfing his 9’1 Wicket wooden surfboard.

Ally was surfing his 6’4 Woodburner wooden surfboard.

All of our sustainable, hollow wooden surfboards are made using wood from local, regenerative woodlands and are intended for a lifetime of waves.
