Monday Morning Surf Club!

A flat water paddleboard adventure!

Owing to a distinct lack of waves at the beach, Monday turned out to be the perfect opportunity to paddle along the coast on our 10’6 Discovery hollow wooden paddleboard.

After a bumpy start heading out from the beach, with more swell around than we had anticipated, we floated along past the huge cliff faces that line the coast from Porthtowan towards Portreath, watching the Guillemots and Razorbills darting about back and forth.

Our destination was Sallys Bottom, a spot along the coast path featuring over 100 steps down to a secluded beach that is generally inaccessible by foot.  Once we rounded the rocky outcrop we paddled into the calm bay and explored the caves before landing on the beach and throwing a few casts, hoping that we might just catch something. Which we didn’t, but by the time we were leaving the sun was beaming down and shooting beautiful rays through the water, switching our focus back to the serine shoreline that was bursting with colour.

We hope you enjoy the clip!

All of our sustainable wooden paddleboards and surfboards are made using wood from local, regenerative woodlands and are intended for a lifetime of waves.
