Saturday Making

24 . 02 . 26

Last weekend we were joined by Kerry and Kenny making their own wooden wave-craft…

Kerri joined us to make a bodysurfing handplane, used to assist your body in sliding along the face of a wave.

She went for a sandwich layup with a hole grip, and chose the Bob template, which she then cut around, rounded over and sanded to a finish.

Enjoy all the whomping Kerri!

Kenny spent the day making a bellyboard with a triple pale wood layup. Bellyboards are the oldest form of wave-riding in the UK and are a great sustainable alternative to bodyboards.

He chose the Performance template and using the same tools and techniques as Kerri, shaped into the blank to create his very own wave catching machine!

All of our sustainable wooden wave-craft are made using wood from local, regenerative woodlands and are intended for a lifetime of waves. Custom made or make your own.
