The schools have broken up and the summer holidays are here, and with them some sunshine and lovely small waves. The sea’s a bit busier, but so what? There are plenty of beaches, plenty of hours in the day, and plenty of different ways to enjoy your time in the ocean. In the time-honoured tradition of “being prepared” the back of the Otter Surfboards van has a couple of wooden surfboards as well as a bellyboard, a couple of handplanes and a pair of swim fins so that we can make the most of whatever waves are on offer. The water’s even been warm enough for lunchtime dips in boardshorts recently, and long may that continue.
In celebration of the summer holidays and all of the different ways to enjoy the sea this summer (and because the current dates are sold out), we’ve added some extra dates to our handplane and bellyboard shaping workshop calendar over August. You’ll now be able to join us on the 2nd, 9th, 11th, 14th and 30th of next month, so if you’re planning a summer holiday to Cornwall and want to spend a day crafting in the workshop with us then click here.
