Handplane Workshop Gift

Description

Sometimes, nothing beats grabbing a handplane and heading out for a swim to catch a few waves, and using a handplane you’ve made yourself takes the enjoyment to a whole new level.

Often, our one-day handplane workshops are given as gifts to celebrate memorable birthdays or to simply celebrate a wonderful human.

The usual decisions, with regards to wood choice, hand grip and workshop dates, can be a little overwhelming, so there is no need to worry about any of that right now.

Once you’ve bought the gift, we’ll post a gift certificate out to you so you have something to give the lucky person on the big day and the certificate will encourage them to get in touch directly with us so we can guide them through their decisions, either over the phone or via email.

When they join us for a day in the workshop, they’ll make their own wooden handplane alongside some like-minded folk. We’ll create a blank for them, with a concave running through it, and they’ll template and cut their outline, shape the rails and oil their handplane ready for their first swim.

No previous experience or aptitude for making is necessary; we break everything down into bite-size chunks and support them at all times.
