Things did not go quite as planned this morning, but we stumbled across a little barrel on the sand, all to ourselves!
A huge swell and period was forecasted, we had aimed to find some shelter and paddle out with some friends in the hope of surfing some lovely peeling rights. The sea had other ideas and it was almost impossible to make it to the line up. Luckily while standing on the beach regrouping we saw a dredgey, hollow little barrel running right along the sand, so we grabbed some bellyboards and handplanes from the van (always good to have them handy in cases like this!) and had an absolute blast!
Sam, Chris, James and Ally shared a selection of alternative wooden wave-craft including, a Traditional Bellyboard, a Performance Bellyboard and a Rounded Pin Handplane.
Hoping for the same luck next week!
