James’s Wooden Surfboard

19 . 11 . 25

A couple of weeks ago James popped in to pick up the surfboard he made with us back in Spring…

After spending 5 days being guided through the making of an 8’2 Pieces of Eight, and following the final sand, stamp and sign off, James left his handiwork with us, resting on the trestles – ready for finishing.

The board was then taken up to our friend Paul Fluin, who meticulously glasses and resins until his exceptionally high standards are met.

The quality of the finish is unmatched in the surf world, and something we are proud to feature on our surfboards, and this is what greeted James as he stepped back through our big blue doors with his daughter, to be reunited with his creation.

A full circle moment, and one of our favourite parts of the workshop experience!
