Find Us At A Festival This Summer

03 . 07 . 16

It’s festival season once again, and with the hope that this year’s quota of rain has already fallen on Glastonbury, we’re making preparations to take our workshop on the road for a couple of festival appearances. This year though, we’ll be packing our wellies, just in case. Below are the details of where you can find us over several weekends in July and of what we’ll be doing at each event, and we hope that we might see some of you at some point.

Art in Action, Oxfordshire

14-17 July

Art in Action is a festival that has been celebrating and demonstrating fine art and craftsmanship for the past four decades. Held at Waterperry Gardens in Oxfordshire, it is an event that James regularly went to as a child and so we’re very proud to have been invited to showcase our work in this, it’s final year. You can find out more and book tickets in advance on the Art in Action website.

Port Eliot Festival, Cornwall

28-31 July

Port Eliot is a beautiful event – a literary festival that is now so, so, much more, with music, theatre, food, foraging, wild swimming and, this year, a “make your own” handplane workshop. We will be attending Port Eliot with Hole & Corner Magazine, and will be running a series of handplane workshops alongside displaying some of our wooden surfboards. There’s no need to book in advance for our workshop sessions, and they’re free of charge, so if you’re at Port Eliot and fancy spending some time absorbed in the act of making then come and find us. “It’s like falling from the sky into a magic garden where you will be constantly surprised and delighted; where you can drink, dance, discuss, dress up, camp, explore, get lost, fall asleep under the stars to the sound of Andrew Weatherall, and wake up to the ringing of church bells.”
