A few weeks ago Kevin popped in for the first time since his ‘make you own’ week, to pick up his freshly finished wooden surfboard!
Over 5 days we had guided Kevin in making our 9’4” Seasaw, featuring a cedar and triple dark stringer wood lay-up.
We had also burned a couple of Adinkra, West African Wisdom symbols into the bottom of the board, that Kevin had asked us to include, giving it that final special touch of personalisation.
His handiwork was then sent to our friend Paul who finished it with a beautiful matte effect, showing off the natural grain in the wood, and futures 2+1 fin boxes.
To bring the workshop experience full circle, we called Kevin who drove down to the workshop to pick up his surfboard and mark the occasion with the obligatory big blue doors photo.
We can’t wait to hear how the first surf goes!
