We made the most of some windy, onshore slop – and still caught a surprising amount of waves!
We did not have high hopes arriving at the beach as whitewater washed through the lineup to the shore, looking at a very messy and choppy sea. However we saw a couple of what we thought might be surfable waves in amongst the lumps and bumps, so we chose optimism and paddled out.
James did well on the woodburner to get out back and surf a few shapeless waves, many of them whitewater takeoffs and a quick fattening to nothing. It still made for a fun surf and an entertaining video!
