With conditions a little more tricky than they looked, we inadvertently stumbled on a serious test for our longboards…
With the North Coast blown out and a better looking window on Tuesday, we opted to change things up and head to the South Coast for an offshore wind and cleaner conditions.
The waves looked fairly playful from the van just off high tide, so we chose to take our 9’1 Wicket and 9’6 Pier for a surf, thinking that the conditions would be ideal for a longboard session.
Much of the swell that rolled through was fairly slack, giving us good opportunity to use the volume and wave-catching ability of the boards to get in early and stay with the slow breaking lumps, but there was the odd one that would hollow out and lurch on the sandbar.
Chris and James managed a few fun rides in amongst it all, pushing the longboards to their limits and Andy joined us on his more suitable 7’2 Coaster.
We hope you enjoy.
All of our sustainable, hollow wooden surfboards are made using wood from local, regenerative woodlands and are intended for a lifetime of waves. Custom made or make your own.
