A couple of weeks ago Nathan popped by to pick up the wooden surfboard he made with us…
During our 5 day ‘make your own’ wooden surfboard workshops the process of making a surfboard is broken down, with each day comprising of various tasks as the surfboard begins to take shape on the trestles.
By Friday all of the making has culminated in a blank which has been shaped back to its final form using planes and rasps, ready for sanding and finishing touches.
Nathan had chosen to make a 9’8 Cali Log, which once stamped and signed was left resting on the trestles, ready to be taken up to our friend Paul for glassing.
Once we received Nathans surfboard back, he was invited back to the workshop to collect his handiwork and complete the full circle of the experience.
We can’t wait to hear how Nathan gets on with his fresh new sustainable, hollow wooden surfboard!

All of our sustainable, hollow wooden surfboards are made using wood from local, regenerative woodlands and are intended for a lifetime of waves.
