Do you fancy really immersing yourself in the Otter Surfboards experience? We’re really happy to announce that we’re now able to offer camping in a beautiful field overlooking the surf at Porthtowan, just a minute’s (slow) walk from our workshop. So if you’re coming down to spend a week with us building your own surfboard on a “Build-Your-Own” workshop week then you can pitch a tent on site and check the waves by simply rolling back the tent flaps and peering down the valley first thing in the morning before heading into the workshop to put the kettle on and start work on your surfboard. There are also amazing views across to St Agnes Beacon and the old mining wheal houses in the valley, and a mule track leads down the valley towards the beach. The campsite offers solar hot water showers, low impact composting toilets and a cob courtyard to relax in, and there is a tipi and bell tents available to hire if you’d rather spend the week waking up under canvas than nylon. Feel free to call or e-mail us for more details, or we’ll ask about camping when you book onto a course.
