Robby and Alfie Pick Up Their Wooden Surfboards!

27 . 05 . 25

This weekend Father and Son popped in to collect the surfboards they made with us at the end of last year…

Over 5 wholesome days of making in November, Alfie and Robbie had spent their time piecing together rail strips, nose and tail blocks and top and bottom skins, before finding the shape of their chosen models using planes, rasps and pull saws.

On the Friday after the final sand and the sign off, the surfboards remained on their trestles as Alfie and Robby said their goodbyes to us. The boards were then sent up to our friend Pail at Fluin Glassing who expertly added a sheet of fibreglass to each, before using an eco-epoxy resin to seal and beautifully finish.

Linking in the pick-up with a half term surf trip, the full circle moment was completed last weekend when Robby picked up his 9’8 Cali Log and Alfie collected his 5’10 Fetch.

There were smiles all round, and we hope they continue all the way to the beach for that special first paddle out, we can’t wait to hear all about it!
