Every year we invite everyone who has ever made a surfboard with us back to the workshop for a day…
The Saturday we picked for this years event happened to coincide with a number of storms that were affecting the country, so travelling for many of our workshoppers was made very difficult. The conditions also made it tough for the hardcore group who came along despite the wind and rain, in that we still wanted to find somewhere to surf!
After meeting at the workshop to decide where to head, we opted to surf at Hayle river mouth which was well placed for the wind direction – very strong offshores, and potentially offering the chance of a ride or two, compared to other loca spots that were blown out.
Despite the conditions everyone managed to paddle out and catch a couple of waves!
Then it was time to head back to the Eco Park for a well earned dinner and few beers.
Thanks to Tiger Feet for the food, Harbour Brewing for the beer and Clare James for the photos.
Who needs sunshine and perfect waves when our awesome community gets together?! Another great year!
