Next Monday, the 21st of January, is Blue Monday. The third Monday in January is deemed by many (although it’s pseudo-science) to be “the most depressing day of the year”, even though this has no basis in scientific fact and was actually devised as a publicity campaign for a travel company. Regardless of it’s accuracy or origins though, there’s no doubting that the end of January isn’t the chirpiest time for many; Christmas and New Year, the happy spike in mid-winter, has been and gone and you’re starting to get a bit fed up with the short days and grotty weather of January, your body’s having withdrawal symptoms from the cheer-me-up-chocolate that you gorged yourself on over said festive period, and your credit card bill is about to land. Bleurghh. How long until summer?
Well we’d like to help cheer a few of you up next week. We’re running a small competition on our facebook page, where every new page like for the Otter Surfboards page or share of the competition post on facebook (for those of you who already like us) enters you into a prize draw to win either a handplane or a hooded sweatshirt. We’re aiming to tip the scales of 500 likes on our facebook page, so please share the contest post across facebook and twitter to help spread the wooden word.
