Our friends over the hill at Surfers Against Sewage have had another great year in 2014, mobilising thousands of beach users in their spring and autumn beach cleans and earlier this month delivering their Marine Litter Report to the Houses of Parliament. SAS work tirelessly to protect and improve the marine environment (in particular the “coastal bathing waters” that we surfers use so heavily) through their campaigns to reduce the single use plastics that plague beaches, warn water users of CSO (combined sewage overflow) discharges and raise awareness of waves as social and economic resources for coastal communities.
