Not our usual blue doors photo!
Aside from James’s expression, you can also see multiple dings on both boards, which can be explained by watching the above video.
While this is not an ideal outcome, there are some good learning points:
Our surfboards are made from wood and can be dangerous!
Participating in party waves is not a good idea in serious surf!
Always be aware of other surfers and surf with caution!
One positive to take away from this situation is that we are now able to make a ding repair video, which will answer a questions people often ask us: “what happens if you damage a wooden surfboard?!”
