New Wooden Surfboard Pick Up!

04 . 06 . 24

Nick dropped in last week to pick up his freshly finished 9’1 Wicket wooden surfboard…

Nick originally joined us back in February for 5 days to make his own wooden surfboard, he chose our 9’1 Wicket as he is a beginner surfer hoping to progress in his longboarding. You can hear all about his experience from the workshop in the video below.

It’s always such a great feeling to close the workshop cycle. The wooden surfboard has been glassed and our workshoppers get to walk through our big blue doors again, usually a couple of months after leaving their freshly sanded handiwork on the trestles after a week of making with us. Seeing the board finished for the first time and knowing that a coat of wax and a trip down the hill to the beach is all that needs to happen before that special splash in the sea, is a lovely moment to witness!

All of our surfboards are made using wood from local, sustainable, regenerative woodlands for a lifetime of waves.
