Another trip down the coast, but much bigger waves…
With a 6ft swell and 16 second period we knew the waves would be pretty serious, and Porthtowan looked like it was not handling the size when we checked it first thing.
We went on the search to find waves with a little more organisation, so catching them might be a bit more achievable on the outgoing tide.
Despite a rippy paddle out we managed to find ourselves sliding along few solid overhead walls, the wooden surfboards giving us the edge against the strong offshore winds.
James surfed his trusty 9’1 Wicket, which got him into waves nice and early and gave him the speed to race the lip, (can you believe the board is 10 years old?!)
Max was on our 5’10 Fetch which gave him some great maneuverability for a couple of epic turns.
We hope you enjoy the footage!
All of our sustainable, hollow wooden surfboards are made using wood from local, regenerative woodlands and are intended for a lifetime of waves. Custom made or make your own.
